Lorelei Alice Mooring – 46, Wards Creek, New Brunswick, formerly
of Truro, passed away peacefully, with her loving family at her side,
on Friday morning, July 2, 2010, in Colchester Regional Hospital,
following a courageously fought battle with cancer. Born April 25,
1964, in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Jesse and Doreen
(Roode) Mooring.
Lorelei was an avid outdoorswoman and enjoyed fishing, bird watching,
gardening and farming. Lorelei is survived by her common-law husband
of 26 years, Martin Walsh; daughter, Vanessa Mooring (Fiance, Scott
Bain), at home; son, Steven Mooring, Gagetown, New Brunswick;
brothers, Jesse (Barb), Dartmouth; Shawn, Bible Hill; several aunts,
uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a wide circle of friends. Along
with her parents, she was predeceased by her nephew, Christopher.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home,
55 Young Street, Truro, where Lorelei’s family will receive
friends from 7-9 p.m., Monday, July 5, 2010, and where the funeral
service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 6, 2010, Reverend Brian
DeLong officiating. Reception will follow. Interment in Bible Hill
Cemetery. If so desired, donations in Lorelei’s memory to Extra
Mural (Association similar to VON), Sussex, New Brunswick or Canadian
