Scott, Arthur Ray, 84, of North River, passed way peacefully Sunday,
July 25, 2010, at home. Born in Londonderry, he was a son of the late
Walter and Reta (Farnan) Scott. He was a veteran of the Second World
War serving overseas with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corp and the
Royal Canadian Army Provost Corp. He was a member of the Royal
Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Truro. Arthur was an avid hunter and
fisherman and had a great love for his hometown of Londonderry.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Freda Rushton; son Paul,
Dartmouth; daughters, Susan Wilson, Truro; Krista Henderson (Glen),
North River; grandchildren, Walter, Stephanie, Aidan, Emma; 5
great-grandchildren; brother, Dale, Truro; sister, Marion Howard, St.
George, ON.
He was predeceased by a brother, Keith; sister, Inez.
No visitation or flowers by family request. Arrangements are under the
direction of Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. A
private family graveside service will take place at a later date with
Rev. Roger Moore officiating. Donations in memory may be made to the
Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Fund or to a charity of choice. Private
