McNutt, Allan Ralph, 63, of Upper North River, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 11, 2011 at home, surrounded by his loving wife and family. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Elwood and Mary (McLean) McNutt. Allan was a former employee with the Department of Transportation as a heavy duty mechanic. He loved fishing and tinkering in his garage and garden. He is survived by his wife the former Leona Verta Huey; son, John (Tracey) McNutt, Debert; daughter, Angie McNutt, North River; sisters, Carol (Edwin) MacQuarrie, Susan McNutt, Jean (Doug) Frizzell, brother, David McNutt, all of the North River area; grandson, Alexander John “AJ”; granddaughter, Charley Jean; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 sisters in infancy. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Allan’s life will be held on Sunday afternoon, July 17, between the hours of 2 to 4, at the home of Allan and Leona’s. Interment will be held at a later date in the Blackmore Memorial Cemetery, Upper North River. No flowers by request. Donations in Allan’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
