Wheadon, Phyllis Eileen, 84, Hilden, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2012 in the Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Ambrose and Beatrice (Crouse) Crowe. Phyllis developed arthritis at the age of sixty-five. She was an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 26, Truro, former member of the Hilden Fire Brigade, Ladies Auxiliary and also the Hilden Fire Side Club.
She is survived by her husband Arden D. Wheadon; son Michael (Marlene) of Hilden; daughter Arlene Fox (Don) of Toronto, ON; grandchildren, Joel and Tess Fox, Wade Wheadon (Misty Rutherford) and Julie Wheadon (Bobby Wood); Great-grandchildren Brooklyn, Sage, Tavish, Makayla, Kaitlyn; brother Jack Crowe (Lois) of Riversdale; sister Ida Legere (Bill) of Hilden.
She was predeceased by sisters, Priscilla, Ellen.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. There will be no visitation by family request. A graveside service will take place in the spring in the Hilden Cemetery, Hilden with Rev. Ian Harrison officiating. A follow up obituary will be announced at a later date with the day and time of the graveside service.
