Marjorie Winnifred "Marge"
Gault – 93, Truro. The
family is saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Marge on
Friday, August 7, 2015, at Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Born
September 8, 1921, in Brentwood, she was a daughter of the late Fred
and Ida (McLennan) Fisher.
Marge is survived by her sons, Dara (Joan), Minneapolis,
Minnesota; Gary, Victoria, British Columbia; daughters, Anne (Ken)
Skinner, Sylvan Lake, Alberta; Brenda (Darren) Bentley, Halifax;
grandchildren, David (Elizabeth), Megan (Steve), Angela, Zach; great
grandchildren, Jaxson, Zoe, Amanda; sisters-in-law, Edie and Joyce
Fisher; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews,
great-great nieces and great-great nephews. Along with her parents,
she was predeceased by David Edward Gault, her husband of 40 years;
brothers, William "Bill" Fisher, Raymond (Isabel) Fisher,
Fred "Junior" Fisher; sister, Ellen (Lloyd) Flemming;
grandson, Craig MacNutt. She will be missed by her family and many
special friends.
Marge worked at Lewis Cap Factory before working at
Stanfield’s, after which she was a devoted wife and mother.
She was very involved in her community, volunteering for a number of
organizations including Canadian Bible Society, Red Cross, Liberal
Party, Truro Boys and Girls Club, Truro YMCA, Y Senior Group, Good
Neighbours Senior Group, Senior Games Committee and was also an active
member of St. James Presbyterian Church. She was a familiar face at
local card parties and senior dances. Her delicious baking and
sandwich making talents were enjoyed by many over the years. A special
thank you is extended to the caregivers of Chappell Court at
Cedarstone who took such good care of Mum during her stay
there.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Marge’s
family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, August 13, 2015,
and funeral service 2 p.m., Friday, August 14, 2015, Reverend Dr.
David Sutherland officiating. Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery, East
Stewiacke. Family flowers only by request. In lieu of flowers,
donations in Marge’s memory to St. James Presbyterian Church
(General Fund) or a charity of choice are welcomed. Private messages
