Iona Marguerite (Ford) Dodds – 88, Bible
Hill, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2015, at VG Site, QEII, Halifax,
following a very brief illness. Born June 27, 1927, in Hadleyville,
she was a daughter of the late Howard and Mildred (Myers)
Hadley.
Iona worked at Stanfield’s as a seamstress for many
years. She was a very loving person who had a strong
faith.
Iona is survived by her sons, David Ford, Truro; Gordon Ford,
Edmonton, Alberta; Wayne Ford, Grande Prairie, Alberta; Allen Dodds
(Candace Williams), Stoney Plain, Alberta; grandchildren, April Ford,
Shawn Ford, Amanda Ford, Johnathan Ford, Katie Dodds; great grandson,
Joseph Ford; sisters, Edna Toole, Manchester; Eva Abbot, Guysborough;
several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was
predeceased by her first husband, Harry Ford; second husband, Robert
Dodds; brother, Wallace Hadley.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Iona’s
family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, August 12, 2015,
and funeral service 2 p.m., Thursday, August 13, 2015, Wayne
Hutchinson officiating. Reception will follow. Interment in Crossroads
Cemetery, 110 Salmon River Road, Valley. Family flowers only. If so
desired, donations in Iona’s memory to a charity of choice
