O'Neill, Julia Mary (Harvey) (nee McHugh), age 79, of Truro (recently of Melville Lodge), Halifax. One of God's gentlest souls went peacefully home today, August 13th, 2015.
She is survived by her siblings, Bernadette (Ron), Carl (Linda), Eugene (Sharon), Bern (Linda), all of Corner Brook and Richard (Sol) of British Columbia. She will be sadly missed and forever loved by her children, Dan (Jacinta), Karen (Gary), Barbara (Chris); grandchildren Andrew and James Harvey, Liam O'Hara, Carly and Connor Corkum. She was predeceased by her former husband, John Patrick Harvey, second husband, Owen O'Neill; siblings, Geraldine Foley, Reginald, Edward, Patrick and Gerald McHugh and beloved grandson, John Harvey.
Even as Mom's health failed, she continued to be selfless, always putting others first and never stopped being kind and compassionate to others. Mom lived for her family; they were her life, her legacy. She loved, was loved and will be sadly missed.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall-Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, from where visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. on Sunday, August 16th. A Funeral Mass and a Celebration of Mom's life will take place on Monday, August 17th at 11:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, 669 Prince St. Truro. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent De Paul Society or Brigadoon Village.
