D. Carl MacDougall – 68, Truro Heights,
passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 3, 2015, at Colchester
East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born February 21, 1947, in New
Glasgow, he was a son of the late Fraser and Annie (Cameron)
MacDougall.
An avid outdoorsman, Carl loved being in the woods, spending
time at his camp in Hilden and four wheeling. He was a trucker for
many years for various companies as well as being
self-employed.
Carl is survived by his son, Lawrence MacDougall, Edmonton,
Alberta; daughter, Christal Scott (Brian Fillmore), Truro Heights;
grandchildren, Kyle, Mark, Anderson, Preston, Jessie; sister, Gail
(Clyde) MacDonald, Annapolis Valley; several nieces and nephews. Along
with his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Clifford (Pat)
MacDougall.
Special thanks are extended to Dr. Stephen Ellis and Holly of
Village Family Physicians, doctors and nurses in the Palliative Care
Unit (CEHHC), VON and his friends at Bayview Homestead.
Graveside interment service will be held 3 p.m., Monday,
October 5, 2015, in Bible Hill Cemetery, Warren Drive, Bible Hill. If
so desired, donations in Carl’s memory to Palliative Care
Unit (CEHHC) are welcomed. Arrangements have been entrusted to
Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro.
