Lola Eileen MacQuarrie – 94, North River, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, October 29, 2015, at Vimy Court (Shannex), Bible Hill. Born August 1, 1921, in River John Road, Denmark, Colchester County, she was the only daughter of the late William and Jessie (MacKay) Morrow.

Lola was a member of St. James Presbyterian Church. She loved to babysit, play cards and go to dances and horse shows.

Lola is survived by her daughter, Beth (Bob) MacLean, Greenfield; sons, Bruce (Karen), Bible Hill; Carl "Bill" (Marilee), West Chezzetcook; grandchildren, Carla (Peter), Robyn (Serge), Steven, Kathryn, Dan (Deanna), Candice (Kelly); great grandchildren, Cassidy, Shea, Molly, Gracie, Matthew, Ethan, Drew, Brynn, Sadie; sisters-in-law, Irene Morrow, Hamilton, Ontario; Christine Morrow, Truro; several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Carl Wallace MacQuarrie; son, Brian, in childhood; brothers, Robbie Morrow, Lloyd Morrow, Earl Morrow. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Neil Bower and all the staff at Vimy Court for their exceptional love and care.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Lola’s family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, October 30, 2015, and funeral service 10 a.m., Saturday, October 31, 2015, Mrs. Jacquie Ross officiating. Reception to follow. Interment in Crossroads Cemetery, 110 Salmon River Road, Valley. If so desired, donations in Lola’s memory to Palliative Care Resource Team at Vimy Court or a charity of choice are welcomed.
