a caring, kind and humble man who died peacefully on Monday, November
2, 2015, full of years at 93, at Dartmouth General Hospital,

late Fred and Myrtle (Kneeland) Morash and was the last surviving
member of his immediate family. Along with his parents, he was
predeceased by his wife, Audrey (Palmeter); son, Alan; brother,
Arnold; sisters, Margaret and Helen.
He is survived by his daughters, Tricia (Dave) Ingram and
Marilyn (Del) Lowe; daughter-in-law, Stacey Morash; grandchildren,
Jennifer (Chris), Michelle, Melanie (Dax), Shaun (Julie), Sarah (Luc),
Byron, Alex, Neil, Ian; great grandchildren, Audrey, Isabel, Jackson,
Declan; sisters-in-law, Betty (Peter) Dupuis, Lorna (Bill) Davis;
brothers-in-law, Elmer and Merrill Palmeter; many nieces and
nephews.
He served his country in the Second World War overseas in
Belgium, Holland and France with the 28th
Armoured Regiment. He was honoured as a Life Member of Royal Canadian
Legion, Cobequid Branch 72, Great Village for 70 years serving in
every capacity of the organization. He worked with Nova Scotia
Marshlands for ten years, and then with the Engineering Department of
Nova Scotia Agricultural College as a carpenter and a teacher for
twenty years. Neil had a teacher’s heart and a
gentleman’s demeanour and never said no when anyone needed
help.
He was a faithful member of Trinity United Church, Upper
Onslow, singing bass in the choir for many years following in the
footsteps of his father, a great bass singer; he was also an elder and

Parade School and was a founding member of Onslow-Belmont Volunteer
Fire Department.
