MacLean, Ainslie, of Bible Hill, passed away on Sunday,
January 17, 2016, in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre Truro.
Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Lewis and Estella (Gammon)
MacLean. He is survived by his five children, Deborah Baillie (Dana
Sonier), Amherst, Ted (Debbie) MacLean, Kemptown, Shannon (Mark)
Fielding, Debert, Donna Irving Murphy (Budd Ham), Ontario, Kristie,
Truro; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren; brother,
John MacLean, Onslow; sister, Phyllis Morrisey, Belmont. He was
predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Geraldine (Stiles) MacLean;
sisters, Lillian Hamilton, and Mary Smith, both of Ontario, Patricia
MacLeod, Brentwood; sons-in-law, Malcolm Baillie, and Fred Irving.
Ainslie was a sergeant in the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery, also
served as a Paratrooper early in his Military Career, and was a Korean
War Veteran, retiring after twenty years, and retired after another
twenty years at Crossley-Karastan Carpet Mills. He enjoyed camping,
fishing, watching all sports, bingo, and playing cards. No visitation
by request. The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 26 Truro, will conduct
a tribute service in Ainslie’s memory at 1:30 pm, Friday,
January 22, followed by funeral service at 2 pm, all in the Mattatall
~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro, The Rev. Lori Ramsey
officiating, with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Interment
at a later date in the Bible Hill Cemetery. Family flowers only. If
