moved to Taunton, Massachusetts, where she received her education.
After taking a business course she worked in the accounting
departments of several companies in Massachusetts and Denver Colorado.
When she married Allan, her husband of 68 years, she moved to Truro
and lived there the rest of her life. Beside her husband she leaves
behind two sons, Robert (Ann), Balloch, Scotland, and David (Sandra),
Truro; two grandsons, Paul (Marla), and Scott (Jennifer), as well as
four wonderful great grandsons. She also has a number of nieces and
nephews in Austria with whom she loved to visit in person and by mail.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Caroline (Florian) Garherr, in
Austria, and Margaret (Horace) Kingsbury, Taunton, Massachusetts.
Before she retired, she worked as a medical secretary for several
doctors. She was a member of St. James Presbyterian Church Truro,
where she was active in women’s groups. She and Allan were
great travelers, and enjoyed visiting interesting places and meeting
interesting people, some of whom became lifelong friends. At her
request there will be no visitation or funeral. A graveside service
will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the
Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. If desired,
