Morris, Sharon Mabel, age 70, of Truro, passed away peacefully, Friday, January 22, 2016, at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre Truro, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Alder Point she was a daughter of the late Daniel L. and Audrey Mildred (Plant) MacQueen. Sharon worked at the Parrsboro RCMP Detachment for 25 years and then the Bible Hill Detachment for 9 years from where she retired. She was a member of Trinity United Church, Parrsboro, where she was on Session and sang in the choir. She was a volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross in Truro for a number of years. She also played clarinet with Parrsboro Citizen’s Band. Sharon is survived by her husband, David Roy "Pidge" Morris; sons, Jeffrey (Christina) Morris, Hay River, NWT, and Daniel (Leona) Morris, Truro; grandchildren, Zach and Xander; twin sister, Elizabeth Anne "Betty" Moore (Sandra Gowler), Winnipeg, MB; sisters, Heather (Bud) Jardine, Florence, NS, Laurie Burns, Halifax, Jean (Phillip) Leblanc, Edmonton, AB; several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Sharon’s Life will be held from 2 ~ 4 pm on Tuesday, January 26, in the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. No flowers by request. Donations in Sharon’s memory may be made to the Canadian Red Cross HELP Program, or a charity of your choice.
