Florence
"Flossie" Hutchinson - 88, Truro, passed away
peacefully on Monday, April 18, 2016, at Elk Court, Brookfield. Born
in Truro, Florence was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Daisy
(Fraser) Fleck.
Along with her
parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Susan Kennedy; daughter,
Pauline Dyke; great-grandson, Korey Bates. Florence is survived by her
children, Leola (the late Walter) Bates, Mary (Reg) Sill, Linda (Dale)
Begbie, Wendy (David) Logan, Sterling (Cindy) Hutchinson and her many
beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and special niece, Carol
(Kennedy) Clark.
Flossie spent her
younger years as a cook in woods and drilling camps all over Nova
Scotia, New Brunswick and even in the Magdalen Islands. Later she
worked in the cafeteria as a cook at the Nova Scotia Teachers College
until her retirement. Flossie will be remembered by her many friends -
not just for her much prized knitted socks and hats, but also for
always having a smile on her face and being ready for a hand of cards
or a game of bingo. The family would like to extend our sincere thanks
to Johnson Manor, Truro, Braeside Home for Special Care, Middle
Musquodoboit, and Elk Court, Brookfield, for their kindness and the
wonderful support they provided to us all.
All are welcome to
attend a graveside service that will be held 4 p.m., Friday, April 22,
2016, at Middle Stewiacke Cemetery, just before civic number 2382
Highway 289, Middle Stewiacke, Reverend Larry Harrison officiating. In
lieu of flowers, donations in Flossie’s memory to Middle
Stewiacke United Church or charity of choice are welcomed.
