Warren Arthur Lewis – 93, Wynn Park Villa, Truro,
passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at the home. Born in
Saint John, New Brunswick, he was a son of the late Avard Warren Lewis
and Myrtle Annie (Grant) Lewis.
Warren enjoyed spending time outdoors, where he enjoyed
boating, fly fishing and hunting. He was a member of Saint John Fish
and Game Association, Saint John CB Radio Club and Saint John Rifle
and Pistol Association where he was an instructor and also won many
marksmanship awards and championships. He enjoyed curling in the
winter and was a member of Thistle Curling Club in Saint John. He was
also a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Truro.
Warren was the last surviving member of his immediate family
and is survived by his step-daughters, Lynne (Lorne) Crozier, Brenda
(Don) Smith, Bible Hill; grandchildren, Stephen (Brenda) Crozier,
Ottawa; Heather Crozier, Tiffany (Steven) Cooke, Alex and Colton
Smith, Bible Hill; great grandsons, Andrew and William Crozier,
Ottawa; several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was
predeceased by his wife, Almeda (Reid, Murphy); sisters, Audrey
(Fenwick) Ellis, Eileen (Jack) Stevenson, Dorothy (Bob) Manning;
brother, Donald (Dorothy) Lewis.
We would like to thank the incredible staff at Wynn Park
Villa for the superb care they gave Warren; he loved them all as
family.
Honouring Warren’s wishes, his body has been
donated to Dalhousie Medical Research. Arrangements have been
entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young
Street, Truro, where a memorial service will be held 11 a.m.,
Saturday, May 21, 2016, Reverend Cory Somers officiating. Reception
will follow. Interment at a later date in Bible Hill Cemetery. In lieu
of flowers, donations in Warren’s memory to SPCA, Truro
Homeless Outreach Society or charity of choice are welcomed. Private
