Darlene M. Roy – 72, Murray Siding, passed
away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday evening,
May 13, 2016, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in
Truro, she was a daughter of the late Roland and Effie May (Nelson)
Roy.
Darlene was a certified hairdresser and worked for
Marie’s Beauty Salon and then on her own, going to various
nursing homes and hospitals to do people’s hair there. She
loved spending time with her grandchildren and at the cottage in Brule
Shore and enjoyed doing crafts, especially tole
painting.
Darlene is survived by her spouse, Erven "Erv"
Trefry; sons, Steven (Noreen) Lane, Valley; Shannon Lane, Murray
Siding; grandchildren, Suzanne Denise Lane, Jayme Lynn Gloade;
step-granddaughter, Carri-Ann Blunden; great grandchildren, Annabella
Rose Lane, Melia Elizabeth Lane; sisters, Rita (John) Munro, North
River; Carol (William) Leblanc, Bible Hill; brother, Carl (Wendy) Roy,
Bible Hill; sisters-in-law, Ella Roy, Truro; Sylvia Roy, Brookside;
many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased
by her granddaughter, Melanie Lane Gloade; sisters, Gladys (Leonard)
Gostick, Mary Roy; brothers, Russell Roy, Clair Roy, Vincent
Roy.
Private family interment will be held in Crossroads Cemetery,
110 Salmon River Road, Valley. If so desired, donations in
Darlene’s memory to Maggie’s Place Family Resource
Centre are welcomed. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall
– Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Private
