Spencer, Iona Theresa, 75, Spencer Point Road, Great Village, NS, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Noel Shore, Hants Co, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Hilda (Grono) Fahey. Iona was a member of the Colchester Stroke Club, Truro. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years Karl; daughter Karla (Spencer) Askew of Enfield; grandson Dylan Askew of Dartmouth; granddaughter Brea Askew of Enfield; sister Myrna Weir (Frank) of Crowes Mills; brother and sister-in-law Keith and Doris Spencer of Sault Ste. Marie, ON; sister-in-law Velma Hines of Stewiacke, several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister Agnes Hill; brother Alvis; mother and father-in-law Clayton and Bertha Spencer.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro from where funeral service will take place on Friday at 2:00 pm. Reverend Dan Gunn will officiate with a reception to follow in the funeral home, Burial will follow in Mahon Cemetery, Great Village.
