Deley, Margaret Elizabeth, 85, of Brookfield and formerly of
Bible Hill, passed away peacefully, Sunday, at Elk Court Shannex,
Brookfield. Born in Truro, Margaret was raised by the late Bert and
Sarah Walton and their family in Bible Hill. She was a former school
teacher, graduating from the Nova Scotia Normal College Truro, moving
to Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, where she began teaching. It was there she
became bilingual, and continued speaking French sometimes up to her
passing. She loved to write poetry and stories about her friends as
well as her own life. Also loved reading, a good discussion with
others, listening to all kinds of music, nature, and getting out for
drives. She was a resident of Elk Court in Brookfield for the past
year and a half. Margaret was the last surviving member of her
immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband, Mike Deley. No
visitation by request. A graveside service and interment will be held
10 am Thursday, June 9, in the Robie Street Cemetery Truro, with Rev.
Donna Lawrence officiating. No flowers by request. Donations in
Margaret’s memory may be made to St. David’s
United Church Bible Hill, or to a charity of your choice.
