Helen Marguerite Creelman – 89, Little
Bass River, passed away peacefully, with loving family at her side, on
Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.
Born in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of the late Edmund and Annie
(Crouse) Wamboldt.
Helen was a member of Riverside United Church, where she sang
in the choir and was a member of Fireside UCW. She enjoyed spending
time with The Red Hatters, loved fiddle music and dancing, skating,
reading and quilting. Her grandchildren will treasure the quilts that
she made for each one of them and her quilting legacy will live on
through those who she taught to quilt. In earlier years, she worked at
R.M. Fulton & Son and then stayed at home to raise her
family.
Helen is survived by her sons, Craig (Yvonne) Creelman,
Little Bass River; Ralph (Angie) Creelman, Valley; 10 grandchildren;
10 great grandchildren; sisters, Irene Johnson, Bible Hill; Audrey
Crouse, Conquerall Mills; Frances Schnare, Lunenburg; several nieces
and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her
husband, Douglas Rupert Creelman; daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne
(Hubert) Castonguay; sister, Mary MacKenzie; brothers, Everette, Earl,
Harold, Theodore, Harvey, Avery, Arnold and Aubrey
Wamboldt.
Helen’s family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.,
Thursday, June 23, 2016, in Riverside United Church, 5577 Highway 2,
Bass River, where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Friday,
June 24, 2016, Reverend Florence Antle-Brison and Pastor Steve Adams
officiating. Private family interment in Riverside United Church
Cemetery. Reception will follow in MacFarlane Hall. Flowers welcome or
donations in Helen’s memory to Alzheimer Society of Nova
Scotia are welcomed.
