Matheson, Katherine Manonia, 86, Truro, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Tatamagouche, she was a daughter of the late William E. and Margaret M. (Higgins) Stone. Kay worked for several years at Stanfield’s in Truro.
She is survived by sisters, Edith Lemmon (Victor) of Bible Hill, Muriel Crawford of Brampton, ON; sons, Bill Stone (Violet) of Onslow Mountain, Bob Stone (Carolyn) of Lower Onslow; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Wayne Matheson; grandson Laurie; brothers, Charlie, Russell; sister, Cynthia; brother-in-law David Crawford.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. No visitation by family request. A graveside service will take place on Thursday, June 30th, at 2:00 pm, in The Falls Cemetery, The Falls. Family flowers only. Donations in Kay’s memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of C.E.H.H.C. Truro or to the S.P.C.A., Truro.
