Russell James "Ted" Gosby – 85, Hilden, passed away peacefully and suddenly on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at his home, while taking in the sights from his favourite place in front of his garage. Born in Guysborough County, he was a son of the late Harry and Winnifred (Spanks) Gosby.

Ted worked as a steel construction worker with various companies and retired in 1988. He loved going for drives and sitting in front of his garage where he enjoyed taking in the sights and socializing.

Ted is survived by his son, Terry, Hilden; grandson, Randy, Edmonton, Alberta; sisters, Gloria, Rose, Judy; brothers, Ralph, Wayne, Barry; several nieces and nephews; best friend, Lloyd Wright, who Ted spent many hours with chatting in front of the garage. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Loretta Marie (Ryan); brothers, Bernard, Leonard, Leo "Buddy", Wesley, Glen.

Private family interment will be held at a later date in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, 125 Robie Street, Truro. If so desired, donations in Ted’s memory to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia are welcomed. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro.
