Geldart, Barbara Jean, 86, Truro, passed away Monday, September 5, 2016 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late John and Gertrude (Atkinson) Toole. Barbara loved music and sang as a soloist, trio and in her church choir for many years. She was a co-founder of the Colchester Stroke Club (1979), and did many years of volunteering with the C.G.I.T. She devoted most of her time to her family and her church and had a great love for her grandchildren. She was also an avid Blue Jay’s fan and her passion for the team has many family members big fans as well.

She is survived by a son Michael Lee (Kimberly) of Debert; daughters Kim Joy Geldart (Eric) of Chester, Sharon Anne Geldart-Warren (Ken) of Truro, Clara Vivian Beal (Tom) of Kitchener, ON; grandchildren Justin and Jordan Paradis, Nicole Geldart, Ben Warren; brothers Joe Toole (Pat) of Brookfield, Chester Toole (Judy) of Truro.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Eric Douglas Geldart; brother, Jack; sisters, Joyce and Jane.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro from where visitation will take place on Friday evening from 7 – 9 pm. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, Sept, 10th  at 2 pm in the Debert Baptist Church, Debert.  Rev. Paul Ferguson will officiate with burial to follow in Main Road Cemetery, Debert. A reception will follow in the church hall. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to the Colchester Stroke Fund or to the Debert Baptist Church.
