Lynds, Bruce
Maxwell, age 90, of Belmont, passed away
peacefully, Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the Lillian Fraser
Memorial Hospital in Tatamagouche. Born in Kindersley, SK, he was a
son of the late Edward and Ruby (Bruce) Lynds. He spent his early
childhood farming with his parents on the prairies before returning to
NS during the depression. He was employed at various jobs, including
the CNR, Canada Packers, and retiring from Stanfield’s. He
had a great love for music and dancing with his circle of friends.
Bruce is survived by his son, Darrell (Edith) Lynds, Belmont;
grandsons, Jeffery, Christopher (Wilma); great-granddaughter, Jessica;
brothers, Russell and Kenneth Lynds, Truro; several nieces and
nephews; special friend, Barb Smith. He was predeceased by his wife,
the former Evelyn Eileen Staples; sisters-in-law, Avis and Joyce. No
visitation by request. A graveside service and interment will be held
2 pm Sunday, September 11, in the Belmont Cemetery, Belmont, with Rev.
Glenn MacLean officiating. Family flowers only. Donations in
Bruce’s memory may be made to the Colchester S.P.C.A.
