McNutt, Guy Edmund 81 of Truro, NS passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016 at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, after a short battle with cancer. Born in Truro to George and Zelda McNutt, he lived all his life in the Truro area. Guy retired from the auto parts business in 2007 where he had enjoyed 52 years of working with people. He especially enjoyed the last 20 years of his career working in the family auto parts business. He was very dedicated to his job, family, and church, filling many volunteer positions at Calvary Pentecostal Church over the years. He spent much time fixing his children’s cars, camping with family, and in later years enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Estelle (Lynds) McNutt; brother, Earl (Mary Ellen) McNutt, Stouffville; sister, Irma Bird, Truro; son, Dwight (Marilyn) McNutt, Truro; son, Kenton (Heather) McNutt, Truro; daughter, Debbie (Dave) Crowe, Brookfield; daughter, Becky (Greg) Singer, Truro; grandchildren, Amy (Sean) Crowell; Matthew (Heather) McNutt; Kenton Jr (Caitlyn) McNutt; Melissa McNutt; Josiah McNutt; Nick Singer; Seychelle McNutt; Nathanial Singer; and six great-grandchildren.
Guy is predeceased by his sister, Mildred Mayhue.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. A celebration of Guy’s life will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 27th at 2 pm, at the Calvary Pentecostal Church, 20 Curtis Dr. Truro, with Rev. Burton Hooper officiating. Interment will follow at Crossroads Cemetery, Valley. No visitation by request. Donations in Guy’s memory may be made to a charity of choice.
