Mont, Frederick Irving Jr., September 2, 1957 –
October 2, 2016. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing
of our beloved partner, father, grandfather, great-grandfather,
brother, nephew and uncle Fred Mont. Born and raised in Truro, where
he raised his three children, Fred was a son of the late Irving and
Cora (MacLean) Mont. For many years, Fred delivered newspapers for the
Chronicle Herald and the Truro Daily News in the surrounding areas
west and north of Truro. He was so dedicated to his job he would go
out in any weather to make sure his customers always had their papers.
Fred was an avid fisherman. He loved working in his garden, and doing
projects around the house. He loved to cook and experiment with new
recipes and ingredients. Fred was a huge fan of baseball and hockey.
He was a loyal fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple
Leafs. Fred was very fond of playing pranks on those around him
whenever he had the chance. Fred leaves a legacy of loyalty, love,
laughter, and a void that can never be filled. He was well known by
many and had an open heart to all.
Fred is survived by his partner Kindalee Carter; children,
Krista Mont (Bill Higgins), Kimberly Fowler (Jason Fowler), David Mont
(Stephanie Mitchell); grandchildren, Kayla, Wyatt, William, James,
Nicholas, Emily, Gage, Christine, Madison, Riley, Aaron;
