Saunders, Muriel Roberta - 91, Truro, NS, passed away Friday, October 21, 2016, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Boston, Mass., and raised in Kensington, PEI, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Amanda (Chapel) Parker. Muriel and her husband Frank resided in Truro. She enjoyed being home with her family, especially with her son Barry, who was her primary care giver for the past 20 years and where she enjoyed baking, especially her biscuits. For a few years, Muriel was a member of the Salvation Army Ladies Auxiliary, Truro, where she enjoyed the friendship.

She is survived by a son, Barry, at home; sisters, Alice Gamester (Johnnie), Breadalbane, PEI; June MacKinnon, Rose Valley, Breadalbane, PEI; Mary Gamster, Hunter River, PEI; Vera MacBride (Earl), Langley, BC; Shirley Graham (Don), Charlottetown, PEI; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Archibald Saunders, of Truro; son, Wayne of Scarborough, ON; brother, Lorne of Kensington, PEI ; brothers-in-law, Murdock MacKinnon, Byron Gamster.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. No visitation by family request. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date in Terrace Hill Cemetery, Truro. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, CNIB, or to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
