MacSwain, Edward Carl, Bible Hill. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ed in his 87th year on Friday, January 13, 2017, in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Alex and Lizzy (Pratt) MacSwain. Ed was a life-long and dedicated painter. He was one of the best husbands, father, grandfather and great-grandfather a family could ever ask for. His family certainly was his life. Ed was known for going without things to provide for his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Ethel Jacqueline (Burch) MacSwain; sons Michael (Bonnie) of Bible Hill, Randy of Truro; grandson Troy; great-granddaughters Alysha, Taylor, Kasey; great-grandson Keagan; brother Bob (Carol) of Onslow; sisters Stella MacLeod of Bible Hill, Mary Boomer of Truro.
Besides his parents, Ed was predeceased by a grandson Mark; brother Neil; sisters Rita, Mona; daughter-in-law Mary Ann.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. No visitation or funeral service by Ed’s request.
