Donna Darlene Trites – 57, Truro, formerly of New Glasgow, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, January 29, 2017, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Emma (Benoit) Campbell.

Donna worked at various restaurants during her career, including Pizza Delight, Tim Hortons and Smitty’s in Sydney, Smitty’s and Mother’s in New Glasgow and most recently at Frank and Gino’s in Truro. She loved to dance, partying with "the girls" and was always up for a good prank.

Donna is survived by her loving husband, Brian; children, Kelly (Scott), New Glasgow; Erin, Calgary; Ashley (Troy), Lorna, Truro; grandchildren, Ashton, Brooklynd, Tyler, Dallas, Keith, Katelyn, Danica, Dominik, Michael, Jacob; siblings, Marie (Donnie), Ontario; Danny (Beth), Trenton; Sharon, Janie (Graham), New Glasgow; Howard (Mary Ann), Stellarton; Bea (Wayne), Lorraine, New Glasgow; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Julie (Charlie); brother, Danny in infancy; brothers-in-law, Martin, Boogie. The family wishes to thank the exceptional staff at Palliative Care Unit (CEHHC) for their care and love to Donna and her family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Donna’s family will receive friends from 2-4, 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2017, and funeral service 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2017, Reverend Lorraine Quinn officiating. Reception will follow. No flowers by request. In lieu, please consider a donation towards an Education Trust Fund for her grandson, Michael; donations can be made at the funeral home.
