Perrin, Bessie Isabell (MacKenzie)
"Betty", 93, of Truro, passed away
peacefully, Friday, February 10, 2017, at the Colchester East Hants
Health Centre Truro. Born September 30, 1923 in Earltown, she was the
youngest daughter of the late Daniel Robert and Effie Bell (Ferguson)
MacKenzie. Betty worked at housework, then with Stanfield’s
Limited for 37 years. She loved dancing, bowling, and playing cards.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is
survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her
husband, Cecil Perrin; sisters, Annie Holt, Hughena (Ena) Landsberg,
and Ellen Moore; brothers, William, and Alexander who was killed in
World War 11 at the age of 22. A graveside service and
interment will be held 11 am Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in the Earltown
Presbyterian Church Cemetery, in Earltown. No flowers by request.
Donations in Betty’s memory may be made to the Victorian
Order of Nurses or to the Earltown Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral
Home, 55 Young Street Truro. Betty’s family would like to
give special thanks to the VON, and everyone at H.A. Johnson Manor
Truro, for all their kindness and compassionate care given to Betty
