Varner, Edward Matthew "Ed", 73, of Bible Hill, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre Truro. Born in Lower Truro, he was a son of the late Everett "Red" and Miriam (Langille) Varner. Ed had worked for Snack Pack Services in Major Foods, the Salvation Army, and with Zellers up until his retirement. He is survived by sisters, Juanita McCabe, and Jeanette Webb, Bible Hill, Marie Bryan, Truro, Barb Atkinson, Halifax. He was predeceased by sisters, June Taylor, Edna Forbes, Evelyn McNutt. Visitation will be held 6 ~ 8 pm, Thursday, May 11, 2017, in the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro. Graveside service and interment will be held 2 pm, Friday, May 12, 2017, in the Bible Hill Cemetery, Bible Hill. Donations in Ed’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
