Wilson, Phyllis Evelyn, 89, Debert, passed away Friday, March
10, 2017 in Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Born in Hilden, she was a
daughter of the late Regis and Lillian (Eagles) Lorette. Phyllis was a
Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 106, Debert, Ladies
Auxiliary. She enjoyed hosting the senior’s socials at the
Debert Legion for many years. She had a passion for dancing and was an
excellent sought after partner. Phyllis was always there when she was
needed for her family and her friends. She was the last surviving
member of her immediate family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Harry
Judson Wilson; daughters, Linda (Eric) Chapman of Debert, Faye
Delbridge (Jim Empey) of Edmonton, AB, Judy Wilson-Shee of New
Maryland, NB, Cathy Poole (David Stiles) of Debert; 11 grandchildren;
16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; several nieces and
nephews; sister-in-law Maryann Lorette of Greenfield and
brother-in-law James Wilson of Truro.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son Ross;
sisters Mary Kennedy, Hazel Salter, Florence Weise; brothers Blair
Lorette, Alvin Lorette; son-in-law’s Clayton Delbridge,
Patrick Shee.
No visitation by family request. Arrangements have been
entrusted to the Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young
Street, Truro, from where funeral service will take place on Saturday,
March 18th at 2:00 pm. the Reverend Gary Yetman
will officiate with burial at a later date in Terrace Hill Cemetery,
Truro. Donations in Phyllis’s memory may be made to the
Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia. Private messages of
