Roy, Ella Merle (Strong), Truro, 93. It is with deep sadness that the family of Ella Roy announces her passing. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family at Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro, on Friday, March 24, 2017.  Born in Spencers Island, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Hattie (Robinson) Strong. Ella took great pride in caring for her family. She was a beautiful cook and enjoyed preparing wonderful meals for her family. Ella's family always came before herself, their happiness and comfort was always the most important thing to her. She will be greatly missed and always treasured by her whole family for the great love and care that she gave selflessly. Her Family feels very privileged to have had her in their lives for as long as they have. A great many times have been shared and enjoyed over these years. These moments have given them the memories that will be carried forward with love and pride.

She is survived by her daughters, Beverly McCoul (Bert) of Truro, Shelley Roemer (Bob) of Enfield; son Kevin Roy (Glenda) of East Mountain; grandchildren, Annette (Babineau) Hanson (Scott), Tamara (McCoul) Robar (Michael), Derek McCoul, Stefanie (Roy) Sheppard (Kurt), Danielle (Robinson) MacMillan (Derek), Lindsay (Roy) Weatherbee (Ryan), Scott Robinson; great-grandchildren Justin, Megan, Jessica, Olivia, Colton, Connor, Madison, Georgia, Ashton, Sadie; brother Dara Strong (Marilyn) of Advocate Harbour; son-in-law Michael Babineau of Truro.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Russell Roy, daughter Rosealee (Roy)  Babineau; brothers John, Conrad, Willard; sisters Evelyn Berry, Cleta Spicer

No visitation by family request. Arrangements are under the direction of Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date in Crossroads Cemetery, Valley. Donations in Ella’s memory may be made to the IWK Hospital for Sick Children or to Diabetes Canada.
