Betty Doreen Vine, Truro. December 18, 1922 – March 25, 2017. Betty passed away in the early hours of March 25, 2017 In Parkland Estates, Truro.  Betty was born in Coventry, England to Robert Joseph and Amelia Downes (Hone). Betty joined the WAAF in the spring of 1940 and serviced until August of 1943 with Fighter Squadron No. 1 on the South Coast of England, in Communications.  She came to Canada in 1946 as a war bride and resided in the Truro area for the remainder of her years where she was an active member of the community. 

She is survived by her son Robert (Faith), grandson Solon (Kristen), great grandchildren, Lukas and Annika.

She is predeceased by her husband Frederick Cecil Vine, her son John Vine.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. A private family graveside service will take place in Robie Street Cemetery, Truro at a later date.
