Darren Ron Newton – 41, Toronto, Ontario, formerly of Lower Sackville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, in Toronto. Born in Halifax, he was a son of Sharon Judith-Ann (Hemmings) Newton, Lower Sackville, and the late Ronald Newton.

Darren graduated from Sackville High School in 1993 and then studied at Dalhousie University, from where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1996. He then studied at TUNS from where he received his BEDS Degree and Master of Architecture. He began working for Infrastructure Ontario, and left to work at Lourdes Cultural Resources for five years. He then returned to Infrastructure Ontario where he has worked for the past 14 years, currently as a Client Solutions Manager.

Darren enjoyed his work and those he worked with. In June, Darren received his diploma for Urban Development from University of British Columbia. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing darts and absolutely loved to travel and was fortunate to see many places in this world.

Along with his mother, he is survived by his brother, Danny Newton (Ocean Samuel), and nephew, Chase Newton, Halifax. Private family interment will be held at a later date in Fernwood Memorial Park Cemetery, Middle Sackville. If so desired, donations in Darren’s memory to IWK Health Centre, Halifax or The Hospital for Sick Children (Sickkids), Toronto are welcomed.
