Douglas William "Doug"
Adams – 82, Bible
Hill, passed away suddenly, surrounded by his loving family, on
Tuesday evening, August 8, 2017, at Colchester East Hants Health
Centre, Truro. Born in Onslow, he was the son of the late John and
Agnes (Harrington) Adams.
Doug worked for 30 years in the Signal Corps of Canadian
Armed Forces and retired as a Warrant Officer from CFS Debert. He then
went to work with Truro Police Dispatch for 14 years, delivered The
Chronicle Herald for three years and then with Treaty Enterprises for
four years from where he retired at age 75. Doug had many interests
and past-times and these included woodworking, making
"whirly-gigs", gardening, hunting on Warwick Mountain with
Raymond and the girls, cooking, baking pies and making preserves;
Doug’s stubborn ways resulted in a few batches of spoiled
pickles, but we won’t mention that here! He also enjoyed
being a Ham Radio operator with the call sign VE1DWA.
Doug is survived his children, Sheila Morrissey (Joseph
Shipley), Truro; Raymond Adams, Truro; Sandra McNutt, Bible Hill;
Heather (Ronald) Jones, Australia; Agnes (Jim) Moore, Truro;
grandchildren, Dwayne, Jennifer, Janice, Charlie, Melissa, Sabrina,
Angel, Anthony, Grace, Abbi; great grandchildren, Stephen, Aylah,
Olivia, Tristen, Brody; sister, Shirley Adams, Lawrencetown Beach,
Halifax County; many nieces. Along with his parents, he was
predeceased by his daughters, Janet and Elaine in infancy; first wife,

third wife, Constance Jean "Connie" (Denny) (Brooks)
Adams.
