Violet Annabell
Hawboldt – 83, Bible
Hill, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on
Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre,
Truro. Born in Dalhousie Mountain, Pictou County, she was a daughter
of the late William and Florence (Bell) Rae. As her family matured,
she went to work in Vic’s saw mill, tail edging and dealing
lumber.
Following Vic’s passing, Violet worked as an
inspector at Stanfield’s for a number of years and retired
in 1999. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and planting trees in her
yard. She had a soft spot in her heart for pets and wild
birds.
Violet is survived by her children, Sterling (Janet) Rae,
Bridgewater; Ronald (Ngima Sherpa-Hawboldt) Hawboldt, Kingston,
Ontario; Maureen (John) Veal, Valley; grandchildren, James (Kirby
Hingley-Veal) Veal, Greenfield; Megan (Nick)
Roode, Bible Hill; Sonya Rae (Russell Fraser), Guelph, Ontario; Luke
Rae, Dartmouth; Violet Hawboldt, Kingston, Ontario; great
grandchildren, Hunter Roode, Riley Roode, Ben Veal, Felix Rae Fraser;
sister, Florence (Osborne) Bell, Onslow Mountain; brother, Vincent Rae
(Louise Cavanaugh), Portapique; many nieces and nephews. Along with
her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Victor Howard
Hawboldt; siblings, Elizabeth, Catherine, George, Martin, Alice,
Frances, William, Gordon, Donald, Elwood and Vera.
Private family interment will be held in Crossroads Cemetery,
110 Salmon River Road, Valley. No visitation or funeral by
Violet’s request. If so desired, donations in
Violet’s memory may be made to Parkinson Canada or VON.
Special thank you to VON nurse Marie Lewis for her outstanding care
and support of Violet and to the entire staff of Colchester East Hants
Health Centre for their care and compassion. Arrangements
