Cyril Collins Roberts – 93, Bass River,
passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday,
November 5, 2017, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born
in Highland Village, he was a son of the late Burton and Susan
(Collins) Roberts.
Cyril worked as a trucker and hauled pulp wood and gravel in
his GMC and was also a dispatcher with Department of Highways, from
where he retired in 1989. He took great pleasure in farming and
raising work horses.
Cyril is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Virginia
Mae (Urquhart) Roberts; children, Burton (Linda) Roberts, Economy;
Philip Roberts, Saskatoon; Linda (Dean) Rushton, Highland Village;
Ross (Anne) Roberts, Debert; Michael Roberts, Portaupique; Grace
Roberts, Highland Village; Frank (Patty) Roberts, Highland Village;
Paul (Carolyn) Roberts, Highland Village; Roy (Florence) Roberts,
Truro; sister, Emily Lane, Highland Village; sister-in-law, Doreen
Roberts, Winnipeg; 19 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren. Along
with his parents, he was predeceased by his grandson, Leslie Rushton;
brothers, Sanford Roberts, Charles Roberts, Calvin
Roberts.
Special thanks are extended to Bass River Fire Brigade for
your care, assistance and help. Private interment will be held in
Portaupique Cemetery. If so desired, donations in Cyril’s
memory to Palliative Care Unit (CEHHC) or Portaupique Cemetery are
welcomed.
