Weatherby, M. Susan, 62, Truro, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018, in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro with her family by her side. Born in Dawson Creek, BC, she was a daughter of Elizabeth Pearl (Ferguson) Nugent and the late William James Nugent. Susan formerly worked for Maritime Travel, Truro, as a travel consultant. She loved going to her son’s baseball, hockey and volleyball games and enjoyed the many summer vacations they spent at Hunts Point, Queen’s County. Susan loved to travel and enjoyed photography, reading, gardening and especially cats.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years Charles "Chuck" Weatherby; son, Charlie of Halifax; brothers, Mark and Kevin (Carol Anne), both of Halifax; sisters, Ann (Terry) Kelly of Bedford, Pat (Bob) Poirier of Elmsdale; several nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Ruth E. Weatherby; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Lorna Weatherby; sisters-in-law, Wendy Bryan, Joanne Barriage and their families.

Besides her father, she was predeceased by a nephew Adam Weatherby; father-in-law, C. Art Weatherby.

No visitation by family request. Arrangements are under the direction of Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, from where funeral service will take place on Saturday at 2:00 pm. Reverend Donna Lawrence will officiate with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to Willow Lodge, Tatamagouche or to a charity of choice. Special thanks to her special friends, Liz Smith, Barb Macleod, Mary Joe, Sharon Lewis and also the nurses and doctors at the CEHHC, Truro, V.O.N. and the staff at Willow Lodge, Tatamagouche, for your wonderful care given to Susan.
