Frances Elizabeth Jackson – 96, Truro,
died peacefully at Wynn Park Villa, Truro, on Thursday evening, April
12, 2018. Born in Truro, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Herbert
Lamert and Emma Lavinia (Fullerton) Daniel.
Frances grew up in Truro and upon graduating high school, she
attended Mount Allison University where she earned a Bachelor of
Science in Home Economics. She interned at Toronto General Hospital
for a year and was then taken on at Toronto Western Hospital as a
dietitian where she remained for seven years. In 1952 she returned to
Truro and attended Success Business College where she graduated as a
legal secretary. After working two years for Frank Patterson, she
moved to Halifax and joined McInnes, Cooper and Robertson where she
met her future husband, Harold.
In 1958, they married and together raised their four boys. A
wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker, Frances maintained an amazing
home for her family. An avid learner and reader, she graduated from
Saint Mary’s University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts
degree. Faith was very important to her and she did her best to
instill a strong sense of right and wrong in her boys. She was very
active in church until she was no longer able. She enjoyed many happy
summers at the family cottage near Mahone Bay surrounded by her family
and friends.
Frances is survived by her sons, Ronald (Brenda), Halifax;
Ralph (Catherine), St. Albert, Alberta; Brian (Evelyne), Truro;
Richard (Yvette), Moncton, New Brunswick. She was very proud of her
grandchildren, Eric, Sarah, Gregory, Steven, Josie, Justin, Mitchel,
Dennis and Marissa and is also survived by many nieces and
nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her
husband, Harold Francis Jackson; sister, Ruth. Special thanks are
