Ray Allister Fulton – The death of Ray Allister Fulton, age 90, of Upper Onslow, loving husband of Joan (MacDonald) Fulton for 66 years, occurred on Thursday evening, April 12, 2018, surrounded by family.

Ray was a son of the late Willard and Pearl (Dickie) Fulton and spent his early years in Everett, Massachusetts, and then in Bass River, where he completed school and worked alongside his father at the Chair Factory. Ray was a civil engineer and a land surveyor and worked in Windsor, Hillsborough, New Brunswick and Truro before he became self-employed in Onslow until retirement. In business, as in life, he was known for fairness, integrity and caring.

Family was always the most important and in addition to his wife, Joan, he leaves behind his daughter, Susan Fulton-Kaiser (Denny); son, Richard Fulton (Rosanne); grandsons, Travis and Steven; step great granddaughters, Arianna and Alexandra; sister, Joyce Slack; several special nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Ron (Thora); infant brother, Donald; infant son; niece, Heather.

His greatest pleasures were in getting together at Economy Lake, at a quiet Inn for annual family outings, at home, or in his workshop. Ray was an active member of the Good Time Fiddlers Club and highly valued the friendship he found there and the sharing of music and was also a member of Trinity United Church. Special thanks to the staff of Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow and Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, April 16, 2018, at Trinity United Church, 415 Onslow Road, Upper Onslow, Reverend Glenn MacLean officiating. Reception will follow. Interment in Riverside United Church Cemetery, Bass River. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to Trinity United Church or the charity of the donor's choice would all be greatly appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro.
