Lortie, Mary Elizabeth (Patriquin), 75, Great Village, passed
away Sunday, June 17, 2018 at home, after a battle with lung cancer.
Born in Truro, April 10, 1943, she was a daughter of the late George
Arthur and Elizabeth (Blaikie) Patriquin. After attending Business
College and Beauty School, Mary found her passion in making people
look good in the beauty industry. Being an owner of her hair salon in
Debert for over two decades, she enjoyed a social act of life making
others look good. Mary loved to dance and mentor younger upcoming
stylist. She was eager and devoted to her work. Passion and creativity
flourished when she was doing hair. Very much of a people person, she
attracted people that loved her. Mary will be loved and missed by her
family and friends.
She is survived by her only daughter Cheryl Weiss (Snyder),
and her husband Robert Weiss and their son Sean Weiss and
Cheryl’s father Meryl Snyder of Debert.
She was predeceased by brothers, Ross and Tommy Patriquin who
were both born, raised and lived in Great Village.
No visitation or funeral service by Mary’s request.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Mattatall~Varner Funeral
Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Donations in memory may be made to the
