Gordon Edgar Sabine – 76, of Vimy Court, Bible Hill, NS, formerly of Belmont, Col. Co., completed his earthly journey to his heavenly home on Friday, September 14th, 2018.  Born March 16th, 1942 in Southville, NS he was a son of the late Lennie (Lewis) and Edgar Sabine. Gordon is survived by his wife of 56 yrs., Sheila (Churchill) Sabine, Belmont.  Children:  Lorenda (Joe) Ebbett, Tatamagouche, Rev. Kirk (Virnna) Sabine, Sussex, NB., Leah (John) Pembridge, River John Grandchildren: Alexander (Candace) Allen, Westville, Natasha Allen (Kevin) Manganese Mines, Matthew Allen, Goose Bay, Labrador, Miles (Megan) Sabine, Portland, Maine, Kendra (Kyle) Varoskovic,Upland, Indiana, Abram Sabine, Sussex.  Great grandchildren: Benjamin Allen, Lucas Allen, and Jade Varoskovic. Along with his parents he was predeceased by his brother Bobby Sabine ,sister-in-law, Linda Sabine, a sister and three brothers in infancy.

Gordon, a carpenter by trade, began his career in the construction Industry, followed by 28 years in Vocational Education as a Carpentry Instructor, retiring in 1995 from the Colchester Regional Vocational School, Truro. Things that held importance for Gordon were family, friends and involvement in the life of his church.  A member of The Wesleyan Church he served on several committees over the years. He was involved in the construction of the sanctuary which was dedicated in November 1988.  Gordon served as a member the District Board of Administration of the Atlantic District of The Wesleyan Church for nearly two decades. Gordon loved outdoor activities especially hunting and fishing, He was a car racing enthusiast. There will be a celebration of Gordon’s life at The Connection Wesleyan Church, 38 Pleasant St., Truro, Tuesday, September 18th, 2018. 2 p.m.  Visitation will be held 12:00 – 1:55 pm, followed by the Celebration. Reception following at the church. A Graveside Service and interment will be held Wednesday, September 19th, 2 p.m. at the Southville Church of Christ Cemetery, Langford Rd., Weymouth. Family flowers only.  Memorial Donations may be made to Kingswood University Scholarship Fund, PO Box 5125 St N Main Sussex, NB E4E 5L2 or a charity of your choice. Sincere thanks to the staff of Shannex – Vimy Court for all of the care and friendship extended to Gordon during the two plus years he resided there.
