Edna Pearl "Bunnie" Tarrant - 85, Harmony and Elk Court, Brookfield, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children, on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Christena (MacRae) MacCalder and the wife of the late Reverend James Edward Sauvé Tarrant.

Upon completion of her education, Bunnie spent several years working as a secretary for Bell Telephone Company. It was during these years she met Bud and they were married on November 19, 1954. Bunnie later worked as a secretary at both Mount Allison University and the former Pine Hill Divinity College while Bud completes his theological studies. Upon Bud’s ordination, Bunnie retired from working outside the home to be a housewife, mother and minister’s wife - a role she had never seen herself in, but one she threw herself into with gusto. During their charges in Gaspé, PQ, Dartmouth, NS, Fredericton, NB, St. Stephen, NB, Truro, NS, and New Mills, NB, Bunnie was often seen filling roles such as secretary, organist, junior  choir leader, UCW member, choir member and CGIT leader.

Bunnie is survived by her loving daughters, Chris Greek (Bob), Norman Wells, NT; Hunter "Peggy" Gates (Lloyd Scott), Edmonton, Alberta; grandchildren, Rachael Verville (François), Robbie Greek, Teddy Greek (Carolyn), James Tarrant; great grandchildren, Ryan and Tina Verville and Riley, Anna, and Lizzie Greek; many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Rae (Everett) Purcell, Eleanor MacCalder, Norma (James) Hall, Anna (Bill) Blakey.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall - Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Bunnie’s family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, November 15, 2018, and funeral service 10 a.m., Friday, November 16, 2018, Reverend Valerie Kingsbury officiating.
