Creelman, Hugh David, 72, Truro, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Elk Court, Brookfield. Born in Truro, NS and raised in South Branch, NS, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Mary (Davis) Creelman.  Dave was a long time heavy equipment and car salesman working with various companies including Honda, Alpa Equipment and Liebherr.  Dave served in the Canadian Armed Forces with the Nova Scotia Highlanders.   He was a past president and a dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Truro,  as well as being one of the founders of the Truro Army Cadets.  Dave also was a member of the Phoenix Chapter of the Masonic Lodge and a member of the Shriners.  In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards at the Truro Club, sharing his knowledge of historical trivia with  friends and family, and good times at his camp," The Black Bear Lodge". He especially loved visits with his nieces, grand-nieces (Mairi and Sybil) and grand-nephews (Owen, Jack and Blake).

He is survived by daughter Dana (Joe) Andrew and sister Margaret (Don) Fisher, her daughters Paula, Amy (Roddie) and Jenna ( Brent), niece Emily (Ryan) and nephew Bill (Carolyn), as well as a large number of extended family and friends.  He was predeceased by brother, Bill.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mattatall-Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where visitation will be Friday from 7-9 pm and where the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 26, Truro will conduct a Legion Tribute at 7 pm.

Funeral service will take place on Saturday, Dec. 15th at 11 am with a reception to follow. Burial will take place at a later date in South Branch Cemetery, South Branch. Donations in memory may be made to the Poppy Fund of Branch 26, RCL or to South Branch Church Fund.  Dave wanted to extend his gratitude and love to his sister Margaret for her unconditional love, care and support over the last few years of his life.
