Interment for Frank Leroy Taylor will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Crossroads Cemetery, 110 Salmon River Road, Valley; all are invited to attend.

Frank Leroy Taylor – 77, Truro, formerly of Brookfield, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday evening, March 1, 2019, at Colchester East Hants Hospital, Truro. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Frank and Ida (McCallum) Taylor.

Frank often spoke about and reminisced about his years working as a bartender at Ponderosa and the many friendships that he made. He also worked at Wire Rope Industries and was a long-time employee at Eastern Canadian Structures, from where retired. He was a volunteer firefighter with Brookfield Fire Department for 15 years. An avid dart player, he was one of the best in Truro, and was a member of Colchester Firefighter’s Association Dart League and also enjoyed golfing and watching NASCAR, especially his favourite driver, Dale Earnhardt, Sr. His daughter, Debbie, cared for him for many years and they enjoyed driving countless miles over the back roads looking for and watching the deer and wildlife.

Frank is survived by his daughters, Belinda Taylor-Woodland (Sam Woodland), Middle Sackville; Shelley Whitman, Lisa Taylor, Truro; grandchildren, Tyler, Colby, Ryan, Jason; brothers, Howard (Janet) Taylor, London, Ontario; Hughie (Lucky) Taylor, Valley; brothers-in-law, Frank Whidden, Harmony; Ted Totten, Debert; several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Debrah Darlene "Debbie" Taylor (May 2018); sisters, Jean Whidden, Shirley (Keith) Vance, Ruth Totten; wife, Violet Mae (Langille) Taylor.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Frank’s family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2019, and funeral service 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2019, Reverend Valerie Kingsbury officiating. Reception will follow. Spring interment in Crossroads Cemetery, 110 Salmon River Road, Valley. If so desired, donations in Frank’s memory to Alzheimer Society or Canadian Cancer Society are welcomed.
