Danny William Joseph Delaney
Danny William Joseph Delaney - 62, Truro, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, April 12, 2019, at home. Born in Truro, he was the son of the late Murray and Mary (Reid) Delaney.
Danny was a member of Valley United Church. In earlier years, he worked at Dr. Jane Norman’s Institute for Human Services Education in Princeport and for over the past ten years had worked as a machine operator at Divert Nova Scotia in Kemptown. He loved birds, country music, Elvis and watching his favourite shows on television, including Criminal Minds, Jag and NCIS. Danny was an avid follower of the Royal family and was a World War buff; he loved to talk and could engage anyone in conversation about any of his varied interests. He will be sadly missed by all of us.
Danny is survived by his sister, Nancy (Alan) Ryan, Truro; nieces, Chelsey Ryan (Matt Brazeau), Truro; Alice Ryan (Kyle Kajari), Fredericton, New Brunswick; Theresa Ryan, Saint-Antoine, New Brunswick; aunts, Shirley Shupack, Alberta; Sylvia Dominey, Bedford; Doris Reid, Kentville; Gloria (Greg) Hiltz, New Minas; uncle, James (Judy) Reid, New Minas; several cousins and friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall - Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Danny's family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2019, and funeral service 2 p.m., Thursday, April 18, 2019, Reverend Carolyn Wilson Wynne officiating. Spring interment in Crossroads Cemetery, Valley. If so desired, donations in Danny’s memory to North River Fire Brigade or Valley United Church are welcomed.
