Pyke, Lillian Elizabeth, 88, Truro, passed away Friday, April 19, 2019 in Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Lorne and Ada (Thompson) McCallum.  Mom graduated from Success Business College, Truro, and worked in the Truro Daily News office until she retired to take care of her children. Later she went to work in the Valley United Church and was also secretary-treasurer for Crossroads Cemetery for many years. Mom resided at Allison Avenue where she enjoyed playing cards and doing jigsaw puzzles with her friends. She was a long-time member of Valley United Church and a life member of the U.C.W. Mom loved her family and was always interested in what her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were doing.

She is survived by sons, Kevin (Darlene), Curtis (Margaret); daughter Judith Lynds (Tony); grandchildren, Daniel Pyke (Lachelle), Carolyn Pyke (Jonathan Doell), Christina (Andrew Bullen), Colin Pyke, Amber Lynds, Anthony "AJ" Lynds; great-grandchildren, Rhailyn,  Kendrick, Della, Denton, Cecelia; brothers , Murray McCallum, Elmer McCallum (Ellen), Wayne McCallum (Margaret) David McCallum (Norma), Bruce McCallum; sisters, Edith Taylor, Elsie Mortenson (Austin), Doris Baird, (Alan), Shirley McCallum.

She was predeceased by her husband George Pyke; sons Eric and a son in infancy; sisters, Alice McCallum, June Yuill; brother Clarence McCallum; sisters-in-law, Elaine, Erma, Sharon and Susan McCallum.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 24th from 6-8 pm. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date in Crossroads Cemetery, Valley with Reverend Carolyn Wilson Wynne officiating. Donations in memory may be made to the Colchester SPCA or to the Arthritis Society of Nova Scotia.
