Cook, George Frederick, 76, Onslow Mountain, Col. Co., passed
away Saturday, June 15, 2019 in Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro, with
his wife by his side. Born June 3, 1943 in Truro, he was a son of the
late William "Bill" and Agnes (Gordon) Cook. George owned
and operated Taxi’s and sold fruit and vegetables door to
door. He loved music, car racing and spending time with family and
friends. He was always there to give a helpful hand.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Joan
(Buchanan) Cook; his children, Steve (Shannon), Jamie; much loved
grandchildren, Ashley (Nick), Chris (Lienna), who he was so
very proud of; great-grandchildren, Zoey and Levi who he loved dearly;
sisters, Gertie and Eileen; numerous, nieces, nephews, inlaws and
friends.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his
brother-in-law, Roland Wilson.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Mattatall~Varner
Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. No visitation or funeral service
by family request. A Celebration of Life with George’s
family will take place at a later date. Donations in memory
may be made to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, V.O.N. Adult Day
Program, Truro, or to the Colchester SPCA. Private messages
