Sears, Ralston Darrell (Jack)
62, Greenfield: It is with broken hearts that we
announce the peaceful passing of Jack Sears on Monday, November 11,
2019 at home with his family by his side, after a lengthy battle with
cancer. Born in Pugwash, he was the son of Walter Edward and Margaret
(Nickerson) Sears. Jack was a hard-working man and a loving husband
and father. With his humorous heart, he was quick to tell a story or a
joke and was one of the wittiest people you would meet. He could
create anything from spare parts and fix the same. He had a great
sense of humor and could never resist teasing close friends and
family. Jack enjoyed spending time at the family cottage, restoring
old vehicles, tinkering around the house and working on projects. He
will be greatly missed by family and friends for his smile, charm and
the way he always brought laughter anywhere he went. He was a
millwright by trade and worked at Intertape Polymer for 45 years. He
touched so many people’s lives and he will be dearly missed
by all who knew him.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Salma (El-Naggar) of
Greenfield; his daughters Sasha of Halifax; and Britney (Adam) of
Dartmouth; and his son, Devin of Greenfield. He is also survived by
many brothers, sisters and several nieces and nephews. He was
predeceased by his parents and his sister Aloyna
(Margie).
Arrangements are under the direction of the Mattatall~Varner
Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, from where a Celebration of Life
will take place on Sunday, November 17th from
2-4 pm. A sincere thank you to the Palliative Care Team of Dr. David
Henderson and Lisa Weatherbee as well as Dr. Lori Wood, Donna Boyd and
Dr. Robert Rutledge who cared for Jack during his fight with cancer.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory can be made to the Colchester
