Gorrill, Edgar Ernest Alvin, 78, North River. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Alvin, husband, father, grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, in his sleep with his wife and sister-in-law with him, on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, in the Q.E. II Health Science Centre, VG Site Halifax. Born in St. Eleanor’s, PEI, he was a son of the late Ernest and Elva (Steward) Gorrill.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alberta (Delaney) Gorrill; son Ernest (Victor); daughter Krista; 5 grandchildren; a great-grandson; sister Jean Parnham of PEI; sisters-in-law Gladys and Linda Gorrill, PEI, Loretta Suttis and Barbara (Max) Tucker, Truro; Aunt Reby Sullivan, Truro; many nieces and nephews, cousins in PEI and NS.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister Marion Crowe; brothers, Lloyd, Robert, Harold; sister in law Diane; brother-in-law Marvin MacLean.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. No visitation by family request. A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 20th at 2:00 pm in the North River United Church Cemetery, North River with Reverend Lynda MacCulloch officiating. No flowers by family request.
